Arkel, the specialist multi-line MGA, part of the Atec Group, has announced that it has extended its relationship with AmTrust, securing an increased limit of £120 million GWP A-rated capacity over the next 3 years for non-standard household insurance.
The deal brings Arkel’s total annual capacity to £65 million GWP, complementing its panel of long term capacity providers and signalling a new phase in its growth strategy.
Launched just six years ago, Arkel has witnessed sustainable year-on-year growth. It grew to £42m GWP at the end of 2024, with a target to hit £100m GWP within the next 5 years. Arkel has achieved such a rapid rise and growing market share because of its reliable strong capacity relationships. The extension of its relationship with AmTrust is further evidence of its disciplined approach to underwriting and strong focus on data and technology driven innovation.
Kris Lee, Chief Underwriting Officer at Arkel, commented:
“We’re delighted to announce this extension of our relationship and an increased limit with AmTrust. We had reached a tipping point with more demand for our products than we were able to meet. This additional capacity will take the shackles off. It will allow us to service a number of exciting significant deals already in our pipeline and further invest in developing and extending our extensive product range to deliver even more value for our capacity and broker partners.”
Bruce Whitmee, CEO at AmTrust Speciality Limited, said:
“We’re pleased to extend our long-standing relationship with Arkel, a business whose appetite, and nimble entrepreneurial approach is very much aligned with our own. We believe in partnering with trustworthy MGAs with strong distribution capabilities, reliable data, and strong underwriting discipline that deliver sustainable growth.”
